The weather has changed, yesterday the rain was relentless but today there was a break in the wet weather so I pulled on my wellies and went for a walk in the woods.
The floor was very wet underfoot and the stream at the edge of the woods is in full flow.
The animals in the woodland are busy getting ready for winter, the squirrels are running around carrying nuts to store, the birds are singing in the trees and eating berries from the bushes.
In the distance I could hear the pheasants flapping around.
On the woodland floor the ferns have turned from the bright green of summer to brown and a new crop of different mushrooms have appeared between the last of the blackberry bushes still bearing some fruit.
The leaves cover the paths and the trees are starting to looks bear, you can now see the structure of the large Oak trees and the stark white bark of the silver birch trees.
